A WORKSHOP TO MAKE 'A DOLL IN A DAY'
at THE CLIFTONVILLE HOTEL in CROMER, NORFOLK. NR279AS

We will be making a 14" jointed cloth doll with a flat face and drawn features. Lots of patterns for different garments will be included. You can choose to make a wired standing doll if you like. I shall give you the templates to take away.
My aim with this is to create a cloth doll which is simpler and quicker to make without a lot of the fiddly details which cause people to get fed-up!
This is a first workshop I have held for making this doll, and because of this I am charging a discounted price as I shall be wanting your feed back on the doll as well as the workshop.
The day will include a lovely buffet lunch, tea and coffee provided by The Cliftonville.
I will supply templates, cotton fabric with the machine sewing competed, stuffing, buttons and some sample yarns and fleece for hair. All the clothing will be made with recycled fabrics and garments of which I have quite a collection. If you want to bring your own contributions this will be very welcome. Tea shirts and socks are really useful additions for dolls of this size.
You can bring a sewing machine for sewing the clothing but I will supply the first stage of the doll already stitched - so you will only need to cut out and complete the remaining stages.
This workshop can be done with hand sewing only. All you need to bring is some hand sewing needles and some suitable scissors. Small and medium size.
I will have a sewing machine there should it be needed.
The pictures here show a few dolls I made last year and I am making a few more at the moment which I am adding as examples of what an be done.
